Worcester Line Trains Replaced by Buses This Weekend, With No Stop at Lansdowne

Going to a show at Roadrunner or House of Blues on Saturday or Sunday? The commuter rail won’t get you there.

Boston Landing station from Everett Street, August 2018

The MBTA is replacing Framingham/Worcester Line trains with shuttle buses between Framingham and Boston on Saturday and Sunday, October 17 and 18, for track work. Express shuttles will make all stops from Framingham to Wellesley Hills and then run straight to Back Bay or South Station; local buses will cover Wellesley Hills to Back Bay or South Station, with a stop at Riverside for the Green Line.

Two stations get nothing at all: Lansdowne and Wellesley Farms will have no trains and no shuttle. The MBTA suggests Kenmore on the Green Line instead of Lansdowne. Boston Landing is also on the affected stretch.

If you’re going out this weekend

  • House of Blues (Lansdowne Street): Sylvan Esso plays Saturday and Sienna Spiro on Sunday. Kenmore on the Green Line is a short walk.
  • Roadrunner (Boston Landing): SUGAR on Saturday and Brand New on Sunday. Roadrunner says the Allston St and Harvard Ave stops on the B Green Line are about a 15-minute walk, and the 57, 86 and 64 buses run nearby.

Plan a little extra time either way. The full list of shows is on this weekend.
