NAMU Distilling Company says it’s New England’s first and only Korean-American craft distillery, and its tasting bar is open at 89 Heath Street, by the Mission Hill end of Jamaica Plain. It makes soju and gin distilled from rice wine; a 750 mL bottle of its soju is $38.99.

The cocktail menu changes about once a month, and the distillery says nearly every ingredient is made in house. There’s Korean food to go with it. The bar is open Tuesday to Friday from 5 to 10:30 PM and Saturday from 2 to 10:30 PM, and you can reserve a table or a distillery tour on its site.

It’s a short walk from the Heath Street stop at the end of the Green Line E branch. Boston.com included it in its October openings. More new spots are on our restaurant openings list.
