Cambridge & Somerville at Night

Across the river, the nights are smaller and closer to the stage. Club Passim, the basement folk club in Harvard Square, has a show almost every night, all ages and fees included in the price.
These are separate cities from Boston, a short Red Line ride from downtown. Somerville runs free SomerStreets parties through the year; the Halloween one, Monster Mash, is on Sunday, October 18.

Club Passim
A tiny basement folk club in Harvard Square. Acoustic shows most nights, all ages.
Crystal Ballroom
The ballroom at the Somerville Theatre in Davis Square: concerts, themed nights and movie trivia.
The Comedy Studio
Harvard Square’s stand-up club: showcases most nights, a free Tuesday open mic, 18 and up.
